Google Earth combines

satellite imagery, maps and the power of Google Search to put the world’s geographic information at your fingertips.
Fly from space to yourneighborhood.
Type in an address and zoom right in. Search for schools, parks, restaurants, and hotels.
Get driving directions.
Tilt and rotate the view tosee 3D terrain and buildings.
Save and share your searches and favorites.
Even add your own annotations.
Google Earth lets you do smooth sailing flybyes ofthe entire Earth.
You can easily fly to any spot on the globe, by entering any associated data, like street addresses, place names or lat/longcoordinates.
There are overlays that put additional information on the map, like roads, international boundaries, terrain, 3D buildings, crime statistics,schools, stadiums, any number of interesting stuff.
You can do Local searches in the program, with icons on the map and a display on the side showing yourresults.
You can leave notes, called "placemarks" all over the map, so you can remember where all sorts of places are. Searches and placemarks canbe saved as bookmarks in "My Places".
Everything can be output in an XML format called KML, that will allow the vast popularity of Google Maps tocontinue in Earth.
You can also email a JPEG of the map, or send a KMZ file if you know the recipient has Earth installed.

New features in Google Earth6:
* Integrated Street View:
In Google Earth 6, the Street View experience is now fully integrated. You can enter Street View either by dropping pegman innavigation controls or by zooming in all the way to ground level on places that have Street View.
* 3D Trees:
Google Earth now has trees.
You can enabletrees by turning on the check-box next to the Trees layer under the 3D buildings layer folder. You can see trees in several places, and we will add trees tomore places over time.
* Easy to use historical imagery:
When you fly to an area where historical imagery is available, the date of the oldest imagery willappear in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.
If you click on this date, you’ll instantly be taken back in time to view imagery from that timeperiod.
* Ground-level navigation:
In Google Earth 6, in addition to flying around features, you can now walk on the ground to explore either 3D buildingsand trees or Street View imagery.
* 3D Measurements in Google Earth Pro:
In addition to measuring distances and areas on the ground, you can now measureheights and widths of 3D building and distances from buildings to the ground.

How to Get 3D Buildings in Google Earth Flight Simulator
1. Enter Flight Simulator mode – Select"Tools->Enter Flight Simulator". Optional: fly to a city which has 3D buildings (tip: San Francisco, Baltimore, Atlanta, Raleigh, Charlotte -these all have lots of 3D buildings). NOTE: – there is a bug in GE 4.3 if you select the "Current View" option in the "Enter FlightSimulator" window, you may end up at an higher altitude than you expect upon starting the flight (much higher). Just fly back down to the citylevel.
2. Open the Sidebar – Sidebar shortcut – Press 'Ctrl + Alt + B' (or + Option + B' on the Mac) to bring up the sidebar
3. Turn on 3DBuildings – Turn these on in the Layers pane in the lower left after the sidebar opens.
4. Turn Off Sidebar – IMPORTANT – before resuming the flightsimulator, turn off the sidebar by hitting the sidebar shortcut from step 2
5. Resume flight – Now you can resume flying the flight simulator by hitting theSPACE key and the 3D buildings should stay on for your current flight.
Changes in v6.0.2:
* Fixed a problem where we were over fetching certain kml layerdata and running into issuing of using large amounts of memory and slowness during zooming in.
* Fixed an issue of ruler tool disappearing. In 6.0 beta,when measuring using the path tool, if you break to add a place-mark then you go back to the path and click "save" the path and ruler tooldisappears all together.
* Fixed an issue with incorrectly measuring long distances. Improved navigation in Street View inside buildings.
* Fixed a crashwith elevation profile if there was empty gx:value node in KML.
* Optimized amount of terrain and imagery data fetched while viewing photo overlays.
* Fixedan occasional crash while viewing 3D buildings. Fixed broken fly-to links within local kml files.
